Poor Gas Milage

Very recently I have been getting very poor gas milage. I used to have at least 300 miles by the time i had 1/4 of a tank, now I am lucky to have 200 by the time i have 1/4 of a tank. I can't figure it out, my tires are inflated properly, ive checked my IMRC, do ya think my injectors are dirty? I always use 93 octane. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

What is you driving style? Have you been driving mainly in the city, or highway? Try using a nother gas station next time. Maybe put a can of seafoam or techron in the tank next time you fill up.

I too get sucky mileage, 300 gallons per tank, 80 percent hwy @ 80mph. What are some changes that one can do?

Using quality gas is probably the one thing that can increase gas mileage. Using at least 91 octane from Chevron or Shell would probably be my choice. You can also try putting a can of Seafoam or a bottle of Techron with your next fill up. That will help clean out the injectors of carbon build up. Other than that, using 5w20 oil, which is already recommended from the factory. Taking that lead weight off the bottom of your foot will also result in better gas mileage.

Also, check your air filter. A dirty or clogged filter could also reduce gas mileage.

I purchased an AEM cold air intake which has increased the gas mileage and horsepower. It is a $250 investment, but I believe the improved performance to be worth it!

Also try different brands of fuel. And look for gas stations that dont use 10% ethanol

Check your tire's air pressure as well. Low air pressure could cause a decrease in gas mileage.

I can attest to different brands affecting your mileage
This past tank i tried Citgo instead of Valero and my mileage dropped like a stone

Changing your air filter or using a bottle of seafoam might help as well

how much seafoam should i use and should i do it on a full tank? is 1/2 bottom enough on a full tank?

Whole can, half can, doesn't matter, it'll do something no matter what. I'd put the whole can in the tank, unless you've got plans for putting the rest in the crank shaft, and changing out the oil. Should probably be atleast a half a tank of gas when you going to do it.

So is 1/2 with oil and 1/2 in tank okay? I see a lot of people add some through the pvc pipe also but i dont want to bother.

1 - Add 1/2 can to oil and 1/2 to gas
2 - Let it set for 10 mins
3 - Start car and drive around block
4 - Change oil within 100 miles.


Is that okay? and is it okay if I skip the pvc part?
