Oil Leaking Problem!! Need Help

Sup guys,

So this weekend I was driving and hit a bad pot hole and my car started to leak all its oil. My car is really dropped so I know it must be bad. Do you guys know how much an oil pan would cost to get and be replaced. I think I cracked mines. All the oil I put in to the car starts to leak out.

Have you confirmed where it's leaking out from? Did it knock the oil drain bolt loose? If it's cracked, maybe some JB Weld will buy you some time to get it fixed right?

How much oil leaks? If it is not a whole lot, fill the oil to normal level then drive the mile to the mechanic

As long as there's oil in it while it's running, you're fine. Seriously...jack up the side and take a look to see how bad the damage is. Then gauge if it's safe. Try JB weld or 30 second epoxy to stop it from leaking temporarily to make it to the mechanic shop!

Alright cool I will do that, Just dont want my engine to blow. As far as leaking it eventually leaks out all the oil but it doesn't do it fast.

If that's the case...drop a quart or two in...and ride out to the mechanic's shop. You're fine.

Sure does...raise the car up a little, no? I mean...avoiding potholes here and there is normal...but to the point where it could do that to your oil pan is a little extreme. Plus...eating up tires etc.

Oil pans for this car arent that expensive (less then $100 last I checked). You could honestly do it yourself if you have the time and tools.

With some gasket maker, a jack (and jack stands if your car is THAT low PLEASE), and a set ratchets from SEARS (crafstman lifetime warranty!) and you can more than likely knock this out yourself.

Or just buy the specific socket and a socket wrench...probably a 12MM...most on Honda/Acura are 8, 10, 12, 14, or 17MM.

J.

Yea its not that difficult. Just drop the J-pipe, and I think thats all thats in the way. You will need a 10mm wrench for the flywheel inspection plate and its either 12mm or 14mm for the oil pan bolts. Youll also need the 17mm wrench for the oil drain plug. I believe the stock header bolts are 14mm. But if its something you dont feel comfortable doing, dont do it.

If you don't feel comfortable with...then you HAVE to do it! Lol...that's how you learn!

I've almost never felt comfortable when doing things to my car for the first time.

Here is the oil pan with sealant for $105 on Ebay, you can also probably use live.com to get 8% back.

Dude...105 bucks sounds like a helluva deal. Go ahead and buy it and pay someone that knows how to do it some bucks and handle it.

$105 is list price for the pan. You can it online for $80, the sealant sells for about $5.

Thats the part number for the pan:
11200-PGE-A00

A google search found the pan for $76 from Honda Parts Now. Also check acuraoemparts.com and magauto.com.
