VERY seldomly, I'll start up my car in the morning, then when I put it into reverse, I disengage the parking brake, then get going.

However I notice that the parking brake light on the dash is still on. I pull over and check to make sure the brake is completely off, and it is. Normally when you drive with the brake on, you can sort of feel it. However I felt nothing lagging me at all, the car still drove pretty flawlessly. But that light on the dash was driving me nuts.

Has this happened to anyone else? Only happened twice so far, once when I was driving in the aftermath of an ice storm, and the second time today. Wasn't really that cold out today, though. Maybe mid-50's?

 

check your brake fluid or brake pads.

 

Replace the Brake Master Cylinder Cap. The Float has gone bad. Most likely this happens @ 44 Degrees outside temperature or below. I had the same problem on my '01 CL and my '02 TL.

 

first. check the fluid. i had sorta the same problem, brake light would come on when its cold out but after driving it a few min it goes way bc the fluid expands. so check the fluid, if its low, check the pads to make sure that u still got some meat on them. if u do. top off the fluid. and look for any leaks.

on another not can also be the ebrake switch where it senses that its engaged or disengaged. check it out/ adjust it

 

Yeah this thread is over 8 months old, so needless to say I got it resolved. I just had to adjust the cap a bit so the floater bit would get seated better in the tank.
