Need help with clutch CLS6
My clutch went out at about 105k. Took it to an ASE certified shop and it cost around $900 for parts and labor together. They gave me a lower price at first until they came across the flywheel and said it had a lot of hot spots from me driving it so much while it was slipping. They were just going to resurface it(I had heard you couldn't resurface a dual mass flywheel myself, but when an ASE shop was planning on it, I guess you can)
When you do get it done, the clutch will feel different at first. It felt soft to me, but after a day of driving it stiffened(?) back up and felt beautiful.

Yeah.....I'd stick with a full faced, sprung clutch. You'll break something with that.

Hmm, doesn't the dual mass flywheel have shock springs in it? I replaced the clutch in my 6spd Legend with OEM it was a solid disk was dual mass flywheel. I guess the CLS OEM clutch disk has shock springs in it?
Oh, yeah my clutch has 122K miles on it and still grabs strong.
here it comes some pictures from replacing my clutch
wasn't that bad. 2 hours to get to the flywheel... 4 hours waiting to get a flywheel resurfaced... and 3 hours to put everything back togheter

Flywheel

Disc

Preasure plate

Motor without Gearbox

and with Flywheel resurfaced

Clutch now grabs like crazy
