No sea foam.
oil changed frenquently and from manifold threw egr cleaned a couple times.
The color differance looks the same with my other motor too, before I cleaned the heads.that motors a temporary thing.

I actually just grabed my oil pump, water pump, and rear seal plate out of the shed for my other motor build and was going to clean them up and install new seals and box them with my other motor parts.
I might start messing with that again soon.

I thought about doing this myself but now I'm thinking I'll have a pro mechanic do it for me. I haven't had my valve clearance checked since I bought my car at 56K and now I got almost 140k on it. Not even sure if the Acura dealer I bought the car from checked it prior to purchase. My shop quoted me for $150 and they say takes about 4 hours. You guys think it's worth to tackle it myself or have someone do it? I like working on my car but don't really feel like spending almost 4 hours under the hood.

FYI - The rear head will always appear dirtier then the front since it runs hotter. The rear cylinder doesnt get much air passing over it, so the grime you see is a bit of burnt on oil.

For $150, Id let the shop do it - as long as they truly know how to work on Js.

For that price i would let them do it. Personaly if someone would gave me 150 to do this job i would refuse... Price is steal but i would make sure like civic said that they know what are they doing.

But i also think that if its not broken dont fix it... If its not noisy doesnt give u problem why whould You mess with it?

Yeah the shop mainly deals with Japanese cars and I had my timing belt replaced by them. They also warrant their work for a year or 12k miles. I'll probably take it to them, my only concern is if they find something wrong then I might be in trouble. The noise has increased over time but car drives fun. I'll let you guys know how it goes. Thanks.
