I have an 01 Cl-s auto...Love the car but lately it would on occasion at startup after driving around spudder and stall. Does it a few times and starts right up. Today i went to start it up for the first time in the morning without driving it and it did the same. But this time instead of starting up it just cranks over and over. The check engine light is Not on. Did a search and read some posts about iac valve and something to do with a fuse that controls the fuel pump...Any ideas guys?

 

did u check the battery? they die u know...

i always hear it.. some OC guy asked the same question. battery. my gf's car won't start... battery.

get ur battery tested. if u can start it with a jump from anoter car.. battery

No battery is new on the car it defiantly is something else...It started up like 2 hours ago..I turned it off and back on fine....Now 2 hours later it won't start again. Just to let you know its real humid here in ct the past week ...I dunno anyone?

 

How are your battery terminals? If theres any corrision, that could possibly be affecting it, especially when combined with humidity

 

Mine is sorta doin the same thing... Except, it wont start sometimes, so i just take the key out and let it sit for like 10 seconds and stick the key back on to the ON position and wait till the beeping goes away and crank it and it turns on... Im changing my spark plugs this weekend along with my front brake pads...

Bleh, or fuel pump relay.....?

 

...to check main relay... have someone listen at the gas tank filler to see if the fuel pump is coming on... if not... find the relay and check it out / resolder / repalce it... about $60 at honda / acura

 

before you get into all of that, try a different key to make sure that the immobilizer is not the problem. failure of the system to reconise the key will cause the car not to start.

yeah... I tried KIS (I have never been stupid) and spent two days jacking with the car and still had to fix the relay... I cannot see how having someone listening at the gas tank is not simple...

 

lol before you thro tomatoes, using a different key only requires one person and if you open the pass through you can hear the fuel pump.......no need to go find another person lol :p

 

oh and KISS was not directed directly at you, it was just a comment about look at the simple things first......
