Missfire In All 6 Cylinders?!

OK, so i've noticed that my car does a little shake at idle, i did my search on this forum and everyone with an IACV problem seemed to describe exactly what my car was doing, when stopped car feels as tho its gonna die, then its strong, then die, then strong,as though its revving itself. NOW i took it to my local Acura dealership to see whats up, basically they told me that im getting engine codes coming up because of my intake and exhaust. I have an AEM intake and an exhaust which brand im not sure of, that was on the car when i bought it (says PRO 1 and some japanese or chinese letters on the back pipe). Acura's recommendation was this....buy stock exhaust and intake........other then that....they had no other solution.

this is the note thats on the form i received when i picked up my car

ENGINE LIGHT ON, MISSFIRE IN ALL 6 CYLINDERS
P0301-P0306
P0170-FUEL METERING OUT OF SPEC
P0172-FUEL METERING TOO RICH
POSSIBLE CAUSE OF THESE CODES VEHICLE HAS AFTERMARKET INTAKE AND EXHAUST SYSTEM

if anyone can help me out with this i'd really appreciate it, i need to find a good mechanic other then the dealership cuz it seems like their solution to everything is "buy stock parts from us"....they mentioned something about my platinum spark plugs...that they give "to much" spark........

Basically you have a non mod friendly dealer there that is blaming everything on aftermarket modifactions. They just rather not bother with it. So either go to another dealer or learn what the codes mean research the site & fix it yourself.

Those codes are codes from fuel & spark. So what's the mileage on your car & you may have bad plugs or coils.

my car has 137 000km so about 86 000miles i think, the spark plugs were CRAP when i bought the car, i changed them right away along with the intake filter

im trying to search the codes now but this 60 second rule is pissing me off

Make sure you get the correct plugs. They are specific for the CLS.

1st thing is you should get a code scanner. You can get a cheap one that will read & erase codes under $50.

The codes that came up may have been stored codes. If you didn't have a CE light before you took it in then there's something wrong with that.
Clear them & see what happens.

champion spark plugs in a cl??? that may be your problem right there. I only use the NKG that came with the car. Depending on the car, certain spark plugs are garbage for them

Idle could be a bad or dirty IAC valve. It gets gunked up with carbon build up. Common problem on the CLS. More so if you have higher miles.
BTW plugs should last 100K miles on this car. There really shouldn't be a reason to change them before that.

The factory spec for plugs are:
NGK PZFR6E-11
OR
DENSO PKJ20CR-M11
They should be pre-gapped but the gap spec is 0.039-0.043 in

i would say start with the plugs. honda's are known but not liking non-oem type plugs.

I would recommend NGK urriduim plugs.

since the MIL (check engine light) wasn't on, its a good idea to clear the codes and see what comes back, if anything.

+1 on also cleaning the IAC or replacing it, along with the plugs and see what happens.
