J35a8

I have been working on pulling my transmission on my 01 cl-s (j32a2) I didn't want to rebuild it nor did I want to attempt a 6 speed swap myself. I heard about doing a 3.5 swap and heard that everything was pretty munch a direct swap. Also heard that I'd probably want to use my heads from my j32a2. Well I found a j35 that I thought would work with transmission for cheap. Turns out it's a j35a8 off of an 05 rl. Also from what I'm reading an 05-08 TL- s. Is this swap still possible. If so what am I gonna have to replace. Also what would be my easiest solution and step up if this won't work. And yes I did already by and receive the j35a8

pull the j32a2 heads and see if it matches the coolant and oil ports on the j35a8. As you can tell the j32a2 has individual exhaust port while the j35a8 head single exhaust port. Also the bell housing for the transmission is different on the j35a8 vs your j32a2. It would have been easier if you bought a j35a3 mdx or j35a4 pilot.

good luck

still have a problem with the cylinder head. mono port vs multiport, and crank and camshaft sensor are different.

andy running a j32a2 head on a j35a8, but then again we have hondata to tweak a few of the settings.

if you want plug and play. J35a3 mdx 2000-2002 Acura MDX would be your best option if you want to do j32a2 heads on it. no piston to valve clearance issues

OP, I did the J35a3 setup with the 05/06 Oddy tranny in my 6th Gen Accord.

You will need the 03 TL Type S ECU(03 CL Type S 6spd ECU if you are going that route).

You can find a parts list on v6performance, I also have a detailed list on 6thGenAccord.com under the same S/N.
