hey i was wondering. i have the parchment interior, and i want to change it to the ebony interior. i heard that i can dye the dash and the seats to oem specs. i looked it up and i was just wondering if it would be worth it and how oem would it look. has anyone here ever done it before? i know a few people on the bimmer forums have, i just wasnt sure. thanks!
I haven't heard of anyone on this board doing that. That would cost a lot of $ I think. Your talking about dash, seats(front & rear), console trim(front & rear) & the door & side panels. Plus carpet & pillars. Oh yeah don't forget the rear deck.
it does. gotta sand it, primer it and then just paint it with the dye, . theres dye for carpet, console/dash and seats. itll be cheaper DIY, but its gonna be a lotta work. so should i just leave the parchment alone then? coz i dont really mind it, id just rather have the black interior.
What are your skills in this area? If you don't know what your doing, then forget it. Also, I have no idea how much it would cost. Seems like it would be a few grand at least.
Another option is to sell your car & get 1 with the black interior.

yeah thats not a bad idea, but cl-s are hard to come around. the one i have now was a rare occasion that came with a few sacrifices, 90k miles, increase insurance and monthly car payments. but now i have the car ive always wanted..minus the parchment interior. so you really think itll cost a few G's to dye my interior? if so, forget it. maybe ill just paint the wood trim into a satin silver, now thats doable, rite? :p
