error P0740 Torque converter clutch
error P0740 Torque converter clutch
This is the error I am getting : P0740 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction
Does anyone know what this is or if it is worth fixing.. Dealer quoted me a Torque Converter for $600.00 just for the part but said that they would have to also do a diagnostic to see if thats it....
Has anyone else had this problem?
Is it worth fixing or do I need to save $ for a whole new tranny?

how many miles do you have on your car? Acura covers the CL trannys for 7 years 9 mo. and 109k miles. When my tranny went @ 52kish they replaced my torque converter and tranny for free.
Went to the dealer.. they told me there is no fix, that a new tranny will be 4000.
Called another side tranny place and they told me to bring it in cause it is common for the trannys to need a new selenoid kit.. cost about 300.

I think you need a new tranny. Acura won't open them up to fix them, they'll only replace them.
Be careful of those tranny shops, they act like they know what they are talking about, but even Honda Corp hasn't figured out how to fix them.
