Acura headlights

I just bought a used 2001 cl-s (LOVE IT) and my headlights were foggy as well. I paid an auto body shop $60 to clean them out and they look brand new, they used some special 3 step process. He said you can also wetsand them with really fine sandpaper and buff them afterwards, but their process gave you better results. I couldn't tell you if their process was better and I wasted $60 on something I could have done myself, but either way my headlights look great!

P.s.

The above comment is also assuming you have the usual outer foggy look from build up that many older cars have. If the buildup is on the inside, Idk.

Of course their process is better because they wanted to make a sale.

$10 for a huge pack of assorted sand paper
$7 for Meguiars PlastX
$2 for painters tape
Water
1 hour

Thats really all thats needed, and you could do it yourself. Ive done it by hand and they came out 95% corrected. Using a PC I got them 99% corrected.

Keep in mind though, they will fog up again. Its the UV rays that cloud the plastic.

I used a product from local car parts store, a " Head light restorer" basicaly a rubbing compound, I used an electric buffer to buff in the product which takes off the tarnished outer layer of the Plastic. Worked great on my 2001. ( took less than 10 minutes per side, product ~ 10.00 for enough to to 50 Vehicles )

Headlight Restorer kits work but you should prefer the ones which are done by powertools...
If the headlight is not in a bad shape try Mequiars Plastx... Worked out for me...
