so ive had the car (03 cls mt6) for 4 days and the headlight is doing something funky. its the left one which ive noticed is hard to get to. what happens is when you flip the lights on they both do their flash then charge up thing. after about 15 seconds the left one flashes a yellow color for a split second then goes out. it comes on and off randomly, but always starts right when you turn the headlights on.

im wondering if this is a bulb problem or a ballast problem. there is a small amount of condensation inside the light housing, which also bugs me. i did a search but cant seem to find a specific answer to this (that and a search every 60 seconds is a bit )

any thoughts or is this going to have to go to the stealership.

 

sounds like a ballast. I would worry about it blowing out that bulb. Do you have any warranty left?

 

no... that blows... i bet the dealership knew that it was going out when they sold it to me.

 

Was it an Acura dealership?

 

no sadly it was a toyota dealership. frankly if they knew more about how rare they are they would have jacked up the price.

I just bought one but the whole light doesn't even come on!! I am having a heck of a time getting the dealer to replace it. Says maybe tomorrow. I keep callin him...5 times today. May get to 6 tomorrow. He will replace mine. I suggest you try the same...
