Hello, I've read a lot of messages about broken door lock actuators, but I would like some confirmation that that is the problem I'm having before I go and replace it.

Symptoms: ESPECIALLY ON HOT DAYS, door will SELDOM lock and unlock, rather it will try unsuccessfully and will tend to stay in one position or another- instead I just manually push the lock tab up and down because its hopeless. It seems that the motor works (might be on it's way out?), and even perfectly fine when it's colder. There is a lot of resistance in locking and unlocking the passenger door. I can feel a more than usual resistance when I push it by hand. (But what does the heat have to do with that?!?! )

The only associated cause I can think of is that my window regulator was going out, and the dealers replaced that (but that was almost a year ago). Maybe they f***ed the door lock reassembling the panel? Maybe someone tried to break into my car and set off a warning on my alarm but bent something up in the process? (Some of the rubber seal on the window inside seems kind of bent up, but that could have been the dealer crooks too )

Anyone had this experience or have suggestions on solutions? I figure I have to take off the door panel to fix something or another, just wondering what.
