HELP! Need to pass NC inspection (engine light, 25% tint)
Hey, I have 3 codes on my 97 CL P1259 VTEC--- Malfunction--> 1738 2nd pressure 1739 3rd pressure
I went to Aamco and they said the malfunction codes are more than likely the pressure switches, needing to be replaced and that it would be about $300. I just replaced the engine and don't have that much money now to replace these switches but I am past due on my inspection and need to get it done ASAP because I already got pulled over once. So what I'd like to know is how many miles must you drive, after clearing all codes, so that I can pass inspection? How long is the drive cycle? Also does anyone know of any place in the Raleigh area that is a little lenient? I also have 25% tint and the legal limit is 35... I really need help, I'm in Raleigh alone and don't know anyone that would do this for me. Of course I am willing to pay extra but I need the codes cleared and the tint to be ignored so that I can pass!!! PLEASE HELP, I'm desperate

You won't be able to beat the 25% tint issue -- I've been in NC for 10 years, and have had to remove tints from two vehicles over the years to get them through. In the past, you probably could get a shop to do it if you knew them well enough, but now everything is electronic. If a shop passes you and you end up getting a ticket for illegal tint that is too dark, the shop is fined.
As for the drive cycle, it varies from car to car. I had an issue recently on another car where it would not clear inspection. I literally drove that car 175 miles over two days to get it through inspection.
