Headlights... what's the difference between an "inverter unit" and an "ignitor"?

http://acuraautomotiveparts.org/acur...s=&view=normal

#4 and #10... Can someone explain to me what the difference is? I'm pretty sure it's my ballast that is out on my passenger side headlight as high beams work and I put a new HID bulb in and it still won't turn on.

Just looking for a little clarification so I don't spend any more money than I have to.

You want to replace your ballast, acura of peoria has them for around 320 IIRC but if you want to save more money DDM tuning or HID extra you can get a pair with bulbs for under 100

The ignitor is generally the high voltage wire from the ballast to the bulb. The inverter is the ballast.
