Does anyone know if HID headlight bulb replacements are part of the 7yr/100k warranty? I only got the car 2 months ago and the left headlight just went out, and its Certified Pre-Owned too. Will Acura install new HID bulbs w/o charge under warranty?

 

anyone? Also, what kind of HID bulbs does the CL use?

 

The 7yr/100k warranty is for the transmission. If you've only had the car a couple months and it's Certified Pre-Owned, I think they should fix the headlight for free.

I believe the bulbs are D2R 4200k or 4800k. I think some people have replaced them with 6000k. I'm not positive, so try a search.

 

alright so i went to David McDavid Acura here in Austin, TX. Not only did they fix the problem, but they replaced some bar (not sure what it was) in the front that was 'cracked' with a new one, and then they vacummed and washed my car. so as im about to get in the car, i ask him about my navigation unit since it asks me for a PIN code which i dont know what it is. he meddles around with it for a bit, gets some codes he had on file, they dont work. so he's like "the previous owner probably changed the pin code, and we cant get it back unless we could contact him...since the car is still on warranty, we'll just go ahead and order a new navi unit free of charge and it should be in by early next week"

so i got spiffy service+new navi unit, freeeeeeee

yay for Acura.

 

David McDavid's a pretty good dealer, that's where my mom got her TSX ordered and they were real nice.

 

This is interesting and good to know. I've had my CL for just over 3 months and my passenger side low beam is out. I'm due for an oil change so I'll try to get the dealer to take care of the headlight issue also. I did buy mine certified and paid extra to get the 7yr/100K warranty bumper to bumper. I did notice in the warranty papers it does specifically state the HID bulbs are not covered though, that does make me wonder...

 

Sounds like McDavid is a very good dealer.
