Front suspention clunk

I've got a clunking sound coming from my front left corner when I go over bumps and it's getting worse. I'm thinking Ball joint or Wheel bearing....... Any ideas? Anyone else have this happen to them. Common problem?

I'm NOT lowered

Thanks

Jason

Ball joints and wheel bearings usually make noise while driving, and not just going over bumps.

Check the sway bar end link and strut for leakage.

To check the balljoints and wheel bearing, get the wheel off the ground and grab it at 12 and 6, and 9 and 3. Give it a stern wiggle and see if anything moves. If it does't have somebody give you a hand and see where the "slop" is coming from.

p.s. It wouldn't hurt to throw it in neutral and spin the wheel to see if the bearing is making noise.

I had a similar noise that went away when I installed new struts - my driver's strut was blown. Other than the noise, I couldn't really tell.

I've heard so many complaints about this...I think everyone's situation is different...one of my friend's mentioned he got all his front nuts/bolts torqued to spec and it helped.

I am having the same issue.... only happens when accelerating from a dead stop or breaking. I dont think it would be the CV's or the bearings as those should make noise during constant motion as well. maybe a blown strut or ball joints.

Me too

I'm getting the clunk on front left as well. Car is due for inspection so we'll see. I actually don't like getting ripped off at the dealer, so will go elsewhere. Do regular part stores have access to, say, upper control arms, etc., for these cars?

Ya they just have to order them in. Let us know what the problem is when you find out.
