I had a shop put some new struts on my car a while back and it's never been quite right since. It's hitting really hard when going over big bumps and bottoming out more than it ever did.

I think they may have forgotten to put the bump stops back. Here are pictures of the front strut assembly. Can someone tell me if they are missing?

 

Looks like it isnt there, but it could be hiding up under the shield (which should actually be much longer then that).

 

I heard that your car will bottom out before hitting the bump stop. Thats what the shop that installed my springs told me. I think they trimmed my bump stops.
