My engine started putting 2 weeks ago. It puts in idle and while driving. One night I stepped on it and my Check Engine Lite blinked 5-6 times. At the next stop sign, same thing. I had my shop put the computer on it to see the if the code was still in the memory, nothing there. I threw some Gumout Regane Fuel Cleaner. It ran good on that tank of gas, then it came back. I'm going to try some Chevron Techron.... Hope that will work...please, someone let me know if they have encountered anything like this and what did you do about it. My car has 98,000...2001 CL-S....Thanx guys...

 

Have you checked your IACV?

 

No, my mechanic doesn't seem to think that's what it is because the RPMs are not erratic. It stays at a steady idle, but just burps a lil. It's very strange.

 

Does it only happen at idle? Or does it happen under slight acceleration or at a steady speed?

 

It does it at all 3...mostly at idle. I threw in Chevron Techron 3 days ago...**poof**...problem solved...FOR NOW!!! I'll let you guys know if it comes back...
