Have a 97 Acura Cl 3.0 58k and i just got a check engine for a EGR Valve.

Just wondering if anyone has had this issue and knows what the estimated cost would be.

I know the part is anywhere from 80-120, but I am not a mechanic and would need someone to install.

You need to post the code that you got and we can start from there.

 

If the EGR truly needs to be replaced - which Im betting its just the EGR port that needs to be cleaned - it isn't difficult.



Look to the immediate right of the oil cap. You see the rusty looking thing underneath the manifold cover? Thats the EGR. Two bolts hold it on. replacing it shouldnt take more then 20 minutes.

As far as cleaning the EGR port, check the 1G CL FAQs, I believe there is a DIY on it. Its not incredibly difficult either.

 

I gotta replaced the gf egr valve. Check engine on and thats the code it gave us for the replacement part. Car kinda lags power with the bad part.
