Cruise Control Issue...

Hmmm...it happened twice on the freeway home today: the cruise control light just turned off and my car started to lose the speed I had it set on...and I didn't touch the brakes or the cruise control (cancel button or switch under the VSA button)...

Anyone know what's the issue...? Thanks!

happens to me sometimes when i hit a bump on the freeway. im thinking the cord is bouncing around a little and the computer then cancels it, probably as a safety feature or something.

did it turn off after you it a bump?
check to see that all your clips and such holding down the cruise control cable are secure and intact.

Hey, now that you mention it, that's when my CC did turn off; there was a dip in the road and then it switched off...

Thanks, man!

I think its the VSA over-ridding it. When I used to get on my moms Accord hard and hit a bump the traction control would go crazy. Possibly the same scenario. If the wheels start to slip, the VSA computer tells the cruise control computer to let off.

Good to know! I'll try out the cruise control again the next few days to see if the problem replicates.

i dont think he's running over bumps that big. i know for a fact when my cruise control shuts off on the hwy, they are pretty minor bumps. its the missing/loose clips holding down the cruise control cable thats making the bumps worse.
