Clutch

Well, it's not a problem yet, but I'm pretty sure my clutch is nearing the end of its life. I have an 03 CL-S with 112k. So, I don't know if this is the average life of a clutch on these cars. But, I was wondering if anyone had any insight on brand choice. Should I go with an OEM or aftermarket. As far as my driving style, I try to drive like a regular person sometimes but with these cars, you gotta unleash them every once in awhile. So, please leave some advice!

Depends on your mods. The tried and proven combo is OEM. The combo that not many drop the money on is the ClutchMasters setup.

No, Im on the stock clutch. Im waiting for my CM clutch to come in. They had an issue with the old flywheels (apperently it was short 1 tooth) and it was causing premature wear for the starter. I ordered it about 3 weeks ago and they said it should be shipping next week. I hope so.

i dont think so the tranny bolts didnt even have scratches on them also the pressure plate bolts didnt even looked like its been touched before. It's ok the LUK clutch and flywheel have been holding up. i drive my car very aggressively and i put about 40k on it already no slipping nothing. the clutch and flywheel cost me less than 500

LUK is another major OEM manufactor but normally they are more on the domestic side

but considering that ours cars were built here in the US, they might have sourced a closer supplier

(and that is why the clutches are so damn touchy, and not like the normal smooth engagement of a honda clutch)

LUK makes the V6 clutch for Honda including the CL/3rd gne TL and 7th gen AV6.

Best thing you can do is to remove the damn dampener from the slave cylinder, this will allow for a more forceful engaugement instead of the momentary slipping when shifting hard......

still not very a large engagement area on the LUKs, from being disengaged to fully engaged :shakehead
