Cheap HID kits a reasonable option?

The passenger side ballast has been out on my CL-S for over a year now and I'm tired of getting pulled over for it and having a busted-ass looking car.

I'm looking at something like this:
http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DD...ast-35W-or-55W

Do I need a 9006 adapter (http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/H1...-Adaptor-Cable) as indicated at the bottom of the kit page?

This seems like a reasonably good deal with the lifetime warranty, etc.

Input appreciated!

Well, it appears that this lovely thread https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...=788745&page=1 answered most of my questions.

However... $16.33 for ground shipping? That is absolutely absurd.

save ten bucks and get the full size kit
http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/Ap...Raptor-HID-Kit

you dont need to get the slim kit and then with money saved you have most of shipping covered, I run a ddm tuning kit on my tl, both my brothers cars as well with no complaints. and yes get the adapter to connect to existing, you will need to splice factory wiring and kit togerther, its super easy though

I am running the DDM tuning Kit in my lower fogs....NO complains so far....

you can also run the kit from HIDEXTRA....they are a vendor on Azine and if something goes wrong and you post it up on their thread, they respond pretty quick

Sorry to thread-jack...

Is it bad or even possible to have two HID kits running on one car?
I would like to put HID high-beams while keeping the factory HID low-beams

HIDs take a few seconds to warm up to temp, and quickly cycling them on/off will kill the bulbs and ballasts quicker. Sadly, thats the environment that high-beams are used in most of the time.

If you really want to, you could get HIDs for the high beam, but Id recommend that you just upgrade to a quality set of bulbs.

We dont have bi-xenons. You could do a retrofit using bi-x projectors though.

Guess I'll stop playing with the HID's in the parking lot then

I got myself some bulbs off fleabay "HID Like Halogens" which supposedly match the color of the headlights. I guess anything is better than what I have now,10 years old and dying.
