CD Player Error

Hey everyone!! I have a 2001 CLS. My cd player tends to be temperamental and goes back and forth from working to showing ER-E1. Does anyone else have this problem or have any cheap and easy solutions to fix it??

Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!

sometimes the radio will do that if you have a loose battery connection. when the battery becomes disconnected, the radio will require a 4-5 digit passcode to make it work when the battery becomes connected again. if you don't know the code, look it up in your manual. if you cant find it, call the Acura dealer. make sure your battery connections are good and tight

if that doesnt work, i dont know.

My changer acts up from time to time with the ER-E1 code when I try to change discs. I'm guessing the mechanism that loads the cds is starting to fail or is getting stuck. When this happens I give it a slight thump on the right side of the radio console and all is well. I don't beat it or anything just a slight thump and shes good to go. I figure its just one more step towards a new navi head unit....lol.

Mine does the same thing when I put in a cd and when its trying to load up, I'd press the button to switch cds and it give the error. I'll try that little right side bump thing and see if that helps next time heh

If not it usually takes care of itself after like 15 minutes

That's funny. My CD player does the same thing, but I have an 03 CL S. I was reading through the owners manual and it mentioned three different error types. As usual, they recommended that you take it to an acura dealership. As mentioned above, I just turn off the CD player for a while, then turn it back on and it works. Could be dust inside the player, old age, malfunctioning motors, who knows....I would keep looking on the forums for a solution, and if you can't find one, contact the Ac dealership.
