Cannot remove icebox cover..please help

im trying to remove the icebox cover to put in a new k&n filter and neither i or my tech can get the cover off for the life of us. the bottom screw was taken out a long time ago and lost so theres only the top two screws left. they will both loosen to a point and then as others have experienced they are stripped in the metal sheath in the cover so they wont spin out all the way. we have tried prying and pulling on the box and doing whatever we can without doing any cutting..

anyone have a solution? we thought of maybe taking a dremel and cutting the heads off the screws to get the cover off and then replacing them with something new.

That will work. You can also pry the lip up while turning the screws until they pop out.
CT now says to put a dab of oil or grease on the screws when installing them to help with this.

Screw Comptech, i hope they keep going out of business. They have terrible customer service and have no business sense as how to keep repeat customers coming back.

The old Icebox was of substandard quality and i had to drill out one of the holes to get my lid off.

I called comptech and told them i didn't keep my receipt but its obvious I had the old model. Anyways, the people there wouldn't give me a replacement box to sum it up.

No way will I ever recommend or myself buy another Comptech product for any of my cars... Ever
