Burnt Headlight Connector

SO my headlight went out and i changed the bulb and it started working again... for one day. I then tried checking to see what's wrong and bam a melted connector / socket. The little gray plug that connects to the ballast. Anyone know where to get this piece? i called the dealer ship and they are charging $60.. Help please...

The ignitor? I didn't think that alone could be replaced because it's hard-wired into the ballast....I could be wrong though.....

Gotta buy a new invertor since it's hardwired in there. Or if you can get a spare, snip the connectors off and wire a new one on.

its the part that connects to it. the female side. i checked autozone, pepboys, parts authority, advance auto and can find it anywhere. i was thinking about converting both sides to the 9006 socket. do you think it would work?
Attached are the pictures

Try this: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...roducts_id=255

Or find a replacement connector/socket from a junk yard.

thanks for the site. I checked all the junk yards around my area. No luck. But i heard that Toyota uses the same sockets/connectors, but theirs actually have a part number on them. so i figure i'll start there. If worst comes to worst, i'll just convert it to a more common plug. Do you think that would cause a problem?

I don't think so. I usually solder the wire connector to the wire after crimping them to ensure they won't fall apart.

Here's another area to look for: http://mypartshop.com/

Good luck

Anyone ever figure out what causes the plug to fry and melt? I'm having the same issue(s).
