On my 2001 CL I can’t pop the trunk. My brother slammed it pretty hard trying to fit a lot in the trunk. The button on my remote never worked since I had the car. When I push the interior button it just makes the sound, but nothing happens. I was thinking of putting the back seats down going through the trunk and removing the assembly. Only problem is I can’t figure out how to put the back seats down. Does anyone know how to do this?

 

they dont fold. u have to pull the bottom cushion out, then unscrew the back part. GL. try to get a kid to go through the little hole .

 

There is also a safety latch when you open the access door towards the top of the trunk near the speakers.. i'll see if I can take some pics because there are two of them and they are hard to see in the dark.

 

I thought the safety latch was only on 03's?

 

damn I thought they were for all years. Mine is an 03 and I have two safety latches.. one is within reach and is like "t" shaped latch and the other is on the trunk lid itself and cant be reached without a broom handle.
