Back center campartment lock

So I locked a $3200 deposit from work in the back center compartment last Friday night because I had to make it to dinner before I could drop by the bank (which was probably a bad idea). After dinner I got to the bank and tried unlocking the back compartment and the key turned, but it stayed locked. I was flipping out for about half an hour trying to figure out how to get the deposit out and thinking of what I was going to tell the district manager in the morning. I was thinking, 'Shit I am so fucking fired for this.' And then I figured out that the entire lock core pulled out of the socket and i reached my finger in there and fished around for another 10 minutes until I figured it out and unlatched it. Scary moment, scary moment. Will the warranty cover a new lock?

Depends on how old is the car and how many miles are on it. Most CL's are about out on time even if the mileage is low.

Same sorta thing happened to me. I think it's a common problem. Took it to the dealer and the service rep fiddled with it for about 15 mins and got it working again.

My '03 went out this summer due to time from the in service date. I'd bet you are out too. You can call a dealer with your vin and they can tell you for sure.

It's definately nice to know it's not really that secure... At first I didn't know what to look for but eventually I figured out how to pop it unlocked with my finger. Oh well, at least most people don't know a thing about Cls like they do Civics. My Civic got broken into within a couple months of buying it.
