I have a 2001 CL type S. Yesterday when i was driving home from work all my lights came on, check engine, VBS, !, etc. The car then began to somewhat jump when i pushed the gas or break.

I checked the OBD-II trouble code and it is P1750. The error being "Transaxle control Module A/T System Fault".

Anyone ever had this problem? Is it something that is easy to fix myself? From my understanding the Transaxle control module is just somewhat of a little box that just plugs in.

I cleared the trouble code and i am going to drive it around a bit this evening to see if the problem is still there. I am thinking that it may just of malfunctioned for some reason and it might be ok now. *wishful thinking*. I also read that this car is known for tranny problems. My car currently has around 75k miles on it. I heard that acura will replace the tranny if under 100K miles for free. is this true?

 

aight check it out man, last year i had to get my trannsmission replaced cause it was doing very similiar problems, the thing aobut it is if you take it to an acura dealership and THEY find that you need a new transmission because of a factory problem then they will replace it for free AS LONG AS it has less than 100k on it, back in '01 they had alot of problems on the transmissions so they gave it an exteneded warranty on the transmission for 7 more years so this is the last year you got to get it replaced.

 

That was exactly it. Had it towed to the dealership the next day. They replaced the transmission under warranty and paid for the tow. lets hope it doest go out again. THanks for your help.
