Any ideas about a 1/2 working touch screen?

Hi All,

I've been unable to find anyone with this problem yet.

I have an '05 MDX and last night the touch screen stopped responding on the right 1/2 of the screen. If I try to touch any button on the right side, it reads it as if I've touched the left side (the left side is still responding correctly). I can utilize the selection knob for navigating and selecting options, but this takes forever.

I was hoping a restart would clear this up but, alas, it did not. I have not yet tried disconnecting the battery but hoping to get more clarity soon.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

This is the CL section, you really want to post this here :

Sounds like the digitizer on the screen is bad though. Im not sure if there is a way to replace it on these units. I believe Alpine makes the screens in the MDX, so you may be able to get some information from them.

Hi all,

I did post this in the MDX forum, though it isn't as active as here.

I have not spilled anything on it, it just stopped responding to touch on the right side of the screen.

I guess I'll try to disconnect the battery and see if that has any effect. It's worth a shot. I won't need to replace the unit as long as it's responding to the joystick, it's just inconvenient.

Thanks for all the replies.

Good luck with it.

Try contacting Alpine regarding it. They made the system and would the best way to go as far as fixing it. The dealer will say to replace it.
