acura cl 6mt slow?

I bought a CLS 6mt beginning of this year. Love the car, but I feel that it's not pulling as hard as I remember test driving other 6mt. The car drives fine but I thought I remembered it having a little more pull. No cell if anything. Is there anything I should look for or is it just in my head? Thanks

We would need to know more about your car, mods, etc. But, likely, you've just become accustomed to the power; therefore, unless you're on a dyno or being timed at the racetrack, you'll never know for sure if it's slower. Butt dynoes just aren't that accurate!

Yeah I figured that, I pretty much stock. I guess I need to add performance parts. Going to get headers hopefully soon.

Your IMRC could be busted. Common & easy to replace. Search that term, & it's also in the FAQ how to test it.

Awesome suggestion, but I just checked it and it is working. Could my iacv cause any issues to the car not performing 100%. I believe mine is dirty because every once in awhile my car on a stop almost stalls but revs itself to stay alive.

I drove my Miata for a week straight , which in the quarter mile pulled a astounding 18.6 , and it didn't feel terribly slow . Got in the Acura which ran a 15.7 box stock neutral dropping the auto trans at 4100 rpms, and it felt like a damn rocket ship . But than I rode passenger in my buds 01 S4 B5 running 12.7's , and everything got really slow . My father has a 06 Z06, running 11.5's on a slipping clutch ... Just really depends .

It also could've been that some or one of the other CLS6's you test drove could've had headers on it already and you didn't know it. As I periodically look at used ones for sale I notice some mods on there that the seller isn't aware of. Either headers, icebox, exhaust, short throw, etc. Or they could've recently had their tune up done, car always rides better right after a big service. Just a thought.

The one I test drove had mid muffler delete and short ram. But can that make the car feel a little faster?

Screw the other ones!...just start modding her out and that should get you to look forward again and not back.

Looks like you got used to it, I bought mine that came with XS Headers and exhaust (no high-flow cat), light weight crank pulley, and it feels pretty powerful coming from an automatic 4cylinder Accord. I got used to it in a month but it is still fun and I don't really need any more power.

So yea, put some mods on it

Hell yeah!!! I want to get headers but Comptech are expensive and XS are not carb legal in California. Anyone run XS headers in Cali?

I didn't have the stock headers so I paid the extra greens to get it passed . Oh well, it's only every 2 years and it would take 8 years for the wasted funds to buy comptech headers haha.

I love my Comptech headers. I have dyno results and everything to prove they're worth the money. But, you will get used to the power and always want more. So, be prepared to spend lots of money on mods that get you almost THERE, but not quite.

by today's standards, the car is starting to show it's age in terms of performance...

To me my car feels the same as when it was new but I am not constantly in the throttle either....
