So my buddy noticed my 3rd brake light was out (i just got the car 2ish months ago) so i hop in the trunk upside down and eventually realize there is no connector and no power line for it, It was used when the previous owner added a Factory spoiler afterward I'm assuming. So how do I get the 3rd brake light to light up? now?

- do I put the wire back to its original location tot he 3rd brake light then run a wire to the spoiler off of... what line?

- or do i leave the spoiler hooked up the way it is and find power to the 3rd brake light now a different way?


So weird. and I'm clueless

any suggestions? i'm all ears

 

If you have a spoiler with the 3rd brake light in it, then your 3rd brake light in your rear windshield is not used to my knowledge......now if you take your spoiler off, you will need to utilize your 3rd brake light in the rear windshield.

 

What??? so it just sits there? that's kinda stupid of acura..

well if the spoiler was standard then of course they would have taken the 3rd light out. not all CLs have a spoiler.
you dont need to run a 4th brake light, its illegal in some states.

i have a OEM spoiler and im just running my non-spoiler 3rd brake light. you can do that if you want.
