Same boat, mine just died about an hour ago as well.
Depending on what you're looking for, auto or manual, you have a few options.
Auto: Odyssey transmission
Manual: CLS6 tranny; 3g TL 6sp tranny; or AV6 but IIRC, they don't have a LSD.
(Someone please correct me if i am wrong about any of these)
I'm personally going to try to go the 6speed route, there are some DIYs around the AZ.

If you're having transmission problems, then we all automatically assume it's the auto.
The worst part is that mine was replaced in december of 2007 with a 36 month/36k warranty. That puts it only 5 months/4.5k past the warranty. And being done by the Honda Service Center (at the Honda plant in Marysville), I may give them a call and see if they can do anything for me...

I towed my car out there tonight, and got two calls today. One from the service center saying it'd be $3500 for a new transmission, and the other was from a guy who works at the service center saying that him and a partner rebuild them on the side for $1500. Our other transmission place in town said $700 for the labor plus the cost of the transmission as well.
I may just talk to the guy about the rebuild, then sell this car asap. I'd hate to do it, but I can't stand the autotragic and don't have a place to get the swap done.
Friesm: and yes, there are quite a lot of Hondas in town, for obvious reasons. Any U.S. Honda/Acura you can imagine is an every-day sight here. (Minus the NSX, I only know of two in town; and S2ks but there are a decent amount of them as well)
