One day I was in CT and it was really cold about 5-10 degrees and I turned my wheel and I heard this squeak sound like wtf is that.....So just before x-mas I had all my tires changed and the problem was gone and also the temperature was in the 40-50 range....Now that the temperature has dropped to the low 20's the noise has come back and its the most annoying thing ever. Front end both sides whenever I turn the wheel...

So has anyone had this same problem??? Might I need to get some things greased up or are my tie rods or struts messed up. Any help would be great, thanks in advance...cause i'm lost

 

Yeas I had that same problem , my car souded like it was gonna fall apart.
How old are your shocks? My shocks had 140K on them and they where way past shot.. They where a mess , all 4 were leaking bad..way overdue, chaged the shocks and springs (I got B@G shock/spring set for $500 that lowered the car 1 inch) and still had a little noise so I replaced the sway bar links with Moog and the bushings with polyurethane and all the noise was gone. Have u replaced anything to do with the suspention yet, what year is your CL and how many miles!?

 

My car is an 01 so its basically 10 years old the car has 157,000 miles on it and I havn't done anything suspension wise...Had the car since august but now I will get it checked out...thanks for your insight

 

You DEFF need new shocks and prob new Sway bar links
U can get MOOG sway bar links for like $80 for all 4 on rock auto..
You might also need the bushings that hold the front sway bar cuz that rubber and does deterorate after 10 years..

 

Also shocks are about $80-$100 each for OEM u cen get a kit Shocks/springs for under $500

 

Yea...I have to go see my mechanic today...the thing that sucks most about this is that I just had all this work done in the summer on my '99 Toyota Solara SLE before I was in a accident and it was totaled in late September which ran about $800-$1000 with labor and parts....life..what a bitch

 

My 01 cl makes a humming sound for like 5 secs when i turn the wheel Ill hear it once then nomore when I first drive off.

 

So I got my work done and it turned out to be the ball joints and something to do with the sway bar and now my noises are gone....

and UMURRJO1 i get that noise to... no idea what it is though

 

Ima have mine checked out.....
