2001 cl-s decided no likey cold weather

car wont start when its cold.

the results of my search were that lots of ppl have described the exact same symptoms, only their situations were all tied to hot weather, and the fuel pump relay circuit or w/e.

can this problem with the fuel relay line thing be also caused by cold weather?

my car does exactly what everyone elses does except mine does it only in COLD weather, where, as far as i can tell, everyone else is noting HOT weather.

My son's acura cl 1999 is doing the same thing.
Started last week, would not start onecold morning.
Checked battery and replaced it as it was old and from Walmart, (my son bought the car in Sept) but it did it again this week. One morning on a cold morning it would not start.
Battery seemed fine as car turned over but would not start. Radio, lights all work too.
Took car to acura dealer yesterday and they went thru it. They claim nothing was wrong ???
Sain no need for Fuel pump or anything else ?
Said to add better gas and put dry gas in once a month. It started fine today but this still seems odd.....
Doe this sound like whats happening to you ?

ya. you turn the key, hear and feel it trying to start, and just as its about to fire up it dies.
all electronics work fine.

i did more research on the web and continued searching these boards. from what i gather it is the fuel pump relay system thing.

have him try turning the key all the way to on (the point just before you engage the starter), let it sit there for about 2 minutes, then try starting it.

i did that this morning, (appx 28 degrees F) and it started first try.

also when i talked to a friend at my acura dealer, he said that in all his days, he has only seen a handfull of starters replaced, and then gave the above suggestion, which was also given by many of the fine AZers we have here. and so far so good

On the 2001-2003 CL's there is a green key, which flashes on the dashboard when the car in the "on" position. Wait until the light stops flashing and start the car. The cars have immobilizers, which need to read the key and send the signal to start the car.

In cold weather there may be a delay and the green key light may flash longer than usual.
