10k miles with M-1 ext.

Hello.
I would like to share my picture. It is about changing oil color. The original plan was to take picture at the same condition but it was not as not a professional tester. Now I drive over 10k so far with this oil.
Anyway the color of oil is one of the important indigator to allow me to change oil. Since I drove over 3k miles, in which I used to change, I do not know when the oil should be chagned now.
Thanks.

Color has nothing to do with the condition of the oil. Unless you were able to completely flush all of the oil out of the engine, the new oil is going to mix with what's left of the old oil.
Smell is probably one of the more important factors. Does it smell burnt?
Just go by time or mileage. If you're using the extended duration oil/filter, go 6mos or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first.

i plan to run 12-15k/1 year with my mobil 1 ext oil/filter. Im running other synthetics on 8-10k intervals with no problems.
like NSXNEXT said, color is no indicator of the condition of oil. You could get an oil analysis done.
