03 CL high beams suck

the HID low beams are great city driving and some rural roads, however for highway night driving the high beams lack punch projecting light down the road. I replaced the high beams with some Piaa bulbs, many years ago, forgot what type, now I am doing more highway night driving, find these suck too. Anyone have any suggestions. The alignment is okay I think as I have not ever relaced the lamp housings.. What type of replacement high beam replacement bulds should i buy or should i buy additional driving lights, what type will work the best and look good on my lower bumper.

you should consider a projector retrofit. changing bulbs won't make a difference.

Are your headlight lenses's clear or fogged & sun damaged? Makes a big difference. Also I would add a pair of aux lights if you really need to light the road. Mount them in the space in the lower bumper & aim them high. Many small lights are are extremely bright will fit in there with some fabbed brackets.

Get some driving lights. The high beams on these cars suck. My first retro was using TSX projectors, I dont even need the high beams and I do a lot of highway and tree-lined country back road driving.

Might try replacing the high beam bulbs. I have no problem with mine. Headlight bulbs go dimmer with age, they don't burn out as often.

Not safe. HIDs take a few seconds to warm up, high beams are generally turned on for maybe 4-5 seconds at a time. Theyll never warm up to temp, youll stress the components, and most importantly, youll put yourself/others at risk due to the warm-up wasting valuable time.

I recently just got Slyvannia Silverstar ZxE 9005 and those bulbs do a great job of lighting up the road ahead.
