01 cl-s road lamps

hey im getting my 01 cl-s in about a week and its sitting in my friends driveway with a dead battery. i charged the battery and was just messing around checking out the features and what not. when i was turning on the head lights i noticed that the two lamps on the bottom of the bumper dont turn on. i couldnt find a switch for them. are there even light bulbs in there? is the switch in the navigation system? (which is locked out and i dont have the code). anyways im just trying to learn everything i can about the car before its actually in my name. thank you for any information you can provide.

Welcome, welcome!

Bulbs are most likely just burnt out. They come on when you turn the light switch all the way for the headlights. Can pick 'em up from any auto parts store for like $5. Any 194 wedge base will do. If they still don't work, the previous owner may have disconnected the bulbs power. Just plug the harnesses back in!

Now for the nav code, you can go to the acura website and once the car is registered to you they will give you the code right away on the website! Since your a new owner I don't know if there is any delay in the system. Can just as easily go to any Acura dealership and with proof of ownership they can get it for you right there as well.

No worries man, this forum is an invaluable tool when you have questions or concerns about your car! I'll warn ya, make sure you do some searching before you ask. Spend a few minutes and do some key word searches. You'd be surprised how easily you can find the answer. But at the same time don't be afraid to ask if you can't find the answer. Before you know it you'll be chiming in and posting your own stuff! GL with the new car, make sure you get some pics up cause we all wanna see what she looks like!

There is a stock diffuser in the headlights. the amber one below the turn signals. here is my write-up:

And I love my tinted tails!

i will definitely have to ponder these two mods. clearing looks amazing. would you recommend using tinting spray paint and just adding small coats?

i love the cleared look for sure! the spray on isn't my experience. you'll have to do some research on that. i didn't like the idea that the spray was permanent so that was part of the reason i opted for the vinyl. its not the easiest thing to put on but damn it looks good!

Welcome to the forum! Definitely a lot of fun modding cars. I'm doing the more basic stuff first, timing belt, brakes, plugs, before aesthetic stuff.

x2 on the buffing, and keeping it clean

Only options are brighter wedge (PIAA) or some LED's. I love my LED's, they match the HID's perfect!

First time around i got them from a vendor in the Black Market. Then when one burned out i couldn't find him anymore. Went on eBay and picked up a couple pairs for the same price. Just look for some 194 wedge 9 LED bulbs.

Something like these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/E951-2X-White-T1...item230529d764

If you shop around you can get a couple sets for a decent price.

Lol, alright. Not sure what info your sending them. Everyone gets the same info via eBay. Make sure you post some pics of the new work!

LOL just saying that if the company in China started charging my account or something it would be easier to deal with inside the US rather than China.....

I got my bulbs in and I thought they came 2 in a pack but I was wrong so I had to order a second bulb which should be here tomorrow so i'll take a picture or two before I pick my girl up...I got the 15 led Lights....much brighter bulb but still has no presence on the road

Try Searching!
Haha, i'm kidding man, i hate when people do that. Here is the info!

Best place to get the gauge cluster conversion. They are so damn bright!:
http://ledautomotive.com/category.php?id_category=19

Everything else you can get here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2pcs-...item2c537f289a
Take a look at this users inventory. He has all kind of colors to choose from. If you want the blue look, you have to go with the white bulbs.

Number of bulbs you'll need are in this link. Ordering extra is cheap and a good idea! Replaced my seat warmer lights and one gauge cluster light so far:

https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-cl-2001-2003-50/led-gauges-conversion-732028/

Let me know if you have questions man, I'm sure you will, haha. GL!
