Tires are WinterForce 205/60/16, and should be awesome in the snow. $472 with the steelies shipped to my door.

That's a bit extreme for me. My stocks with TSX wheels is my winter mode.

You guys are retarded that's a perfect setup for the winter..!! Who wants to fuck up any wheels during the winter or bend rims because of potholes..

Those pics are just an example of why i won't be drivin my CL in the snow. I do agree that if you have to drive it, that's the way to go. It's still a sad sight though. I'm definitely glad i have been fortunate enough to get a nice beater for the winter. I just bought a subaru a couple weeks ago so I can keep the CL in the garage all winter.

I almost just spit my food out when I saw those pics. Sorry, but ive never seen a CL with steel wheels before.

But as others have said, steels are great to beat in the winter, plus those are some good tires for the price

Shit for me in Maryland all i do to winterize my CL is put the stock wheels back on. And keep it in the Garage as much as possible, And drive around the beater.

Very true Niteqwill, but $2 gas and affordable housing > Cali

And guys its a glorified Accord, not some super duper extra pimp car. It has heated seats, is fwd, and is predictable so its GREAT for winter IMO. Much better than my Mustang anyways.

And I am looking for some police center caps, or maybe spray paint the lip silver for some color.

My ex gf has the same setup for her 03 Maxima and it works wonders in the snow, they are great for the money.

I really like it.

Stock rims will still crack if you hit a pothole big enough.

no doubt its ugly, but i kinda like it

You guys dont understand, why spend an extra $300 for alloys when the road salt will eat the clearcoat off in a year anyways? I paid $42/piece for the steelies.

It'll look cool with some police center caps, like a japanese cop car all blacked out.

i think that winter setup is great, def serves its purpose and i'm sure you can drive around with more confidence. when i would drive around the snow in NY i would be on the verge of a heart attack driving around w/o snow tires.

but niteqwill is correct, socal weather is awesome! and around labor day i belive socal had everyone else beat in terms of gas prices, yes it was just a small time span but great nonetheless!

That's exactly what my car looks like, minus the tint, and with Michelin Artic Alpine's!

I was trying to figure out what type of center caps would look good on that... Plastic spinner hubcaps from pepboys/autozone would be another option (they would be good for a couple of laughs anyways).

probably gonna get some chrome trim rings, instead of spray painting the lip.

Like this, minus the center cap.

I see this all the time in Canada. I bought a set of used TL wheels from Shawn and will be putting them on soon for my trips to Canada this winter. I may end up changing tires out in the middle of winter with such long trips and I want to make sure I get the most of out the tires.

Let me know how it works out, I was looking into some Michelin snow tires, just not sure of the quality of them over these or Blizzaks.

I didnt get a chance to go again, as work has been insane (like 70hrs/week). I plan on not going again until I do the springs/shocks, and MAYBE try to find some 245/45/17 dr's, because I think I need the extra width & sidewall to help absorb the launch.

And unlike alot of people I dont care so much about what other people think when they see my car. I know I saved $200 by getting steelies over alloys, so basically I got my Icebox for free.

And I think once its lowered (next spring) it'll look better with the steelies and chrome trim rings.

I dunno about you guys but I'd rather have $200 in my pocket, and have complete control over my car in 6" of snow, than to have plain alloy wheels. Woopity Doo.

edit: And I have 19" chrome Zenneti's that go on once the salt is gone, so dont worry I am anxious to get these off also.

Holy thread resurrection, but as long as we're here, might as well say this ..

Wish I had steelies or something of the sort during the winter because my "driving skills" led to 4 wheels curbrashed and damaged during the 3 winters I put it through. Now my stockies are ugly.

BTW I added the chrome trim rings and lowered since 2005, but I unlike alot of people on A-CL still own my CL-S.

BTW still have these tires and just put them on for the winter. Best $450 I have spent on the car.

I think people riding on 22's in their Escalade in the middle of a snow storm is pretty ghetto.

I'd rather have my stock wheels, but I traded them + cash for my 19's, and its alot cheaper to buy 16" snow tires than 17".

Anyway, very smart setup for the winter. Who cares how it looks in the middle of winter. In the summer when you have it all pretty at a meet and the guy next to you with the cracked lower bumper says "yeah I slid into a snowbank" with his bling bling 18's you will be smiling.
