Angry western pa drivers suck

Ok, so here's the reason my CL's gonna be out of commission for a week or so.... I got off of work early on thursday and decided to go to the mall for a father's day card. As i'm pulling into the mall (behind a dodge dakota at a yield sign), the truck in front of me starts to go (he had more than enough room to proceed safely), so I turn my head to check out traffic to see if i can go with him as well. When i look back in front of me, i hear a crunch and watch my car hit his bumper. Yeah, the guy definitely decided (after he was moving) that he would stop. Needless to say i was quite and . I have to take the car in tomorrow night and drop it off so i can get an estimate on monday, but as far as i can tell, the bumper, fender, headlight, and intake(at least the bypass valve) are all toast and my alignment's way off. I turned my intake into a short ram temporarily, but am going to see about getting an icebox. I know you all want to see pics, so here are a few that i snapped yesterday, they're not pretty though.

Can I have your stock intake tube when you get your icebox? The one that goes from the box to the throttle body.

CL Platano: I was probably goin about 5-10mph when i hit him, it just sucks because i primarily hit the corner of his bumper. On the plus side though, my front bumper was a little scratched up so at least i get a new one.

All Mine: first off, no i didn't end up gettin the card that day, i just went yesterday and got one. I was too pissed and took up too much time cutting my inner fender away from the tire (not to mention pissing around w/ my intake) I just wanted to get the CL home. Secondly, as far as the stock intake tube, i try to keep all my stock parts so I can always just switch parts if i need to. I'll let you know if I change my mine, i'm definitely hoping the bodyshop will help me out w/ the icebox idea though. I'm thinking that since my intake was damaged from the accident, insurance should cover a new one. I called Acura and all the stock parts run around $215, so I'm thinking an icebox wouldn't be too hard to get even if i pay the difference.

I've had the EXACT same thing happen to me. I feel your pain...and it was at the mall nonetheless...

Hope everything works out.

That sucks. Hopefully you get it fixed soon. And thankfully, nothing happened to the wheel.

Sorry to hear about your accident and just after you got your new wheels (I'm the one who asked about the 04 TL wheels for my CL-S on myspace). I hope they fix it up speedy but most importantly correctly. I think you'll like the icebox, no need for the bypass valve anymore.

I bought mine @ http://www.c-c-c.net/CustomCarCreati...Page/index.htm for $249 (cheapest price when I bought mine even w/ shipping) w/19 shipping

thanks for the sympathy guys, and for the icebox info. i'll definitely see if i can do that, i'm hoping they'll just let me give them some cash to cover the extra cost of the icebox. I'll be gettin my estimate tomorrow, it should be a little high, but it's at the best place around here so it'll be worth it when she's all done

Damn, sorry to hear about the CL. I saw you a little over a month ago on I 70 when I was on my way back to NC. The car looked good and there was cute little girlie in the passenger seat.

I don't think you had the wheels then. Must be a new edition.

Luckily for me, it's only cosmetic damage, new headlight, bumper cover, fender, and paint.

which way were you goin on 70 and were you in your si? I don't remember seein it. We still gotta get together next time you're in town. As far as the cute little girle goes, that's my fiancee, and i'm VERY VERY lucky

I just got the wheels like two weekends ago, put them on and then this little mishap happened a few days later

I was heading towards New Stanton and just creepin' along in the CL. You got off on Murtland Ave.

Next time I'm town I'll definitely hit you up. I want to see your CL up close. It looked pretty badass rolling by.

Small world, That sucks about your car, I am also from Wash PA. I live near the college. You'll probably see my red 03 around town eventually.

Try Kojaks body shop down on Henderson Ave, we send everything from the auto mall down there and they can match Honda paint perfectly from all the cars we send them.

Man that SUCKS. I did that to someone in my old Grand Cherokee, bumped her going really slow, and I had to pay for her new bumper. $1400 for barely bumping someone. Was still my fault...I learned you can't assume people in front of you in those situations would do as you would do.
