exhaust and intake

For the exhaust, I am going to get the HKS Super Drager Exhaust. It is 499 from autocarparts.com. Comptech has one too but dont like it as much and it is 100 dollars more(comptechusa.com). For the intake go with either the AEM or the INJEN. The AEM is 232 dollars and the INJEN is 235. You will also need an air by-pass valve. Get the AEM air by-pass valve it is 46 dollars. Get these from autocarparts.com too. Some sights you can look at are autocarparts.com, comptechusa.com, aempower.com, neuspeed.com, and HKSUSA.com goood luck

There is no real "best" CAI...just a matter of preference. Comptech is coming out with their Icebox, which is similar to a CAI and supposedly should have atleast as much hp or more than the AEM or Injen. I would wait and get the Icebox instead for a few reasons: 1) It's Comptech and the dealer would look at it more "friendly", 2) It's design prevents hydrolock so no need for a bypass valve. The bypass valve will rob you of 1-2hp off your total hp from the CAI...the Icebox won't because it's incorporated into it's design, 3) the Icebox design allows for easier filter changing and cleaning as opposed to the AEM or Injen's filter which are located near the "fake fog" area. As far as exhaust, it's really up to you. The HKS dragers and the Comptechs are both about the same as far as loudness...the HKS has slightly more bass than the Comptechs. The Comptechs are more subtle in the look as opposed to the dragers. The dragers do look a lot more aggressive on the coupe, but it all comes down to what you want and or like. I would suggest that you post this in "Car Talk" rather than in "Gallery" to get more desired responses. Also check people's sig for other ideas.

Your looking at about 28whp gain at around 6000k i believe. 15whp at about 4800k. Basically with the exhaust...you looking at about 1hp gain. The headers are a definite must and especially for a 6spd, you'll be loving them even more. Get it and you will never regret it. I am getting mine on this Sunday. Look in "Black Market" section for a guy by the name of Deansbluesi because he is selling the Comptech headers for $999 brand new shipped.

The Icebox is similar to the AEM CAI and Injen CAI. Basically it works on the same idea as the CAI, looks like the stock intake. Everybody is predicting more hp gain from the Icebox than from the CAIs....we all hope. But it's currently delayed until end of summer or possibly even the end of this year due to an issue with the 03 headlights. Here is a pic of the Accord v6's icebox http://solar.innercite.com/comptech/intake1.html I would definitely recommend holding out for the Icebox because of a few reasons: 1) It's Comptech...more dealer friendly, 2) The design and location of the filter will make it easier to change filters and also prevent hydrolocking without losing hp...that's right...if you put a bypass valve on the CAIs, you will lose some hp...slight I heard...but some people will swear they never feel it. To each his own, 3) Stock sleeper look...

Personally i don't buy into the Comptech stuff even if they made for Acura/Honda. I have friends who works in shops and don't even suggest these products due to overprice and useless. Only thing that i might consider is header... that is until a new company makes them for CL. As for intake.... go for Injen and AEM.... get bypass if your area has water level that is up to bumper. Suspension... comptech doesn't lower your car enough so i think its just waste of money.... go for H&R, Eibach etc. Full coilover even better like Teins. Exhaust... Lots to choose from... pick your universal exhaust and custom the catback with thicker piping.

Well hope it helps...just my opinoin and taste. For me is Comptech no way!

Yup... ...stock tires...i want some 235/45/17s...once I get some money...broke because of the headers and Teins. I definitely agress with 23wt about the Comptech springs not lowering enough...get Teins. I thought I was gonna be satisfied with the Comptechs, but the wheel gap gets annoying after awhile and if you put a 45 wheel profile on...the gap gets worse...looks like your back to stock. As far as ordering the icebox...just wait and be patient...but I hear the icebox is not as loud as the AEM or Injen...slightly louder than stock...but then again depends on what you like. Also I don't like the look of the bypass valve...looks outta place...I opted not to get it because where I live...we don't see too much rain.
