dual exhaust looks so much better than single, especially with the bumper cut outs. did you not think so? even if you paint it black your still not getting rid of the empty space. because of the shadow in the pic you cant tell but i think it would look weird even when painted black if you dont have a muffler on the other side. whenever i see a car with a body kit that has cut outs for dual exhaust and only one side has a muffler tip showing it always stands out and doesnt look good.

Oh and as we had discussed about painting the center section black, i think now that you've photoshopped it black go on ahead and paint it. Should look really good.

I'd be curious to see how it looks...worst case you could always re-paint it back to stock.

I love seeing the new mods - keep posting and ignore the haters

If you are going to go that route, have a body shop fill in the other empty muffler slot, and then paint the bottom of the bumper, that way you kill 2 birds with one stone! Anyone else agree???

I'm gonna go w/ no way, just don't think it will look good. Definitely don't cut the bumper, you'd prob end up seeing a lot of stuff you dont want to see. And just ........ ugh. I don't think you should paint that section black either, looks weird, seems like your just trying to make it look "right" w/ the single exhaust to me. If i HAD to choose one or the other i'd go w/ painting it over cutting the bumper, though i don't like either choice. If you are going w/ that exaust, fill in the other hole, and leave the bumper uncut, would look better. Also that exhaust just screams fart cannon. I'm not hating, just saying what i honestly think.

do that. i think it will pull off the look better than painting it black. just make sure you pull it off right and dont do a hack-job.

ill be out there in NC in a few months to offer you a hand.

If you don't mind me asking, why didn't you go with dual exhaust? I don't think your car is bad looking at all, I just think the single exhaust makes it look like a piece of shit Civic wanna-be.

Its not that bad, perhaps these pics are not doing it any justice. Id definitely get some 03 taillights, i think that will complete your look. Not my cup of tea, but unique

IS300 has one muffler. WRX one muffler. Evo one muffler. Skyline one muffler. Maxima one muffler. Lots of cars have one muffler. One muffler for the win! Spoon converted the exhaust system on the Euro Accord and Legend into a one muffler system. I-MOTO TSX has one muffler. This is simply a CL with ONE MUFFLER. My brother has one muffler on his AP2 S2000. ....

not sure if it helps with performance.... but for your case, it just looks better with dual. i mean lots of people love the dual look over single. single just reminds me of ricers, unless it has some performance gains going with 1 muffler...

anyways, paint it and it'll look better and hide the second exhaust hole

the CL doesn't have a true dual exhaust, so regardless if it's one muffler or two, it's purely aesthetic. if you want to go single muffler, at least have the bumper have only one exhaust cutout rather than trying to paint the middle to try and hide it. after it's painted it'll still look like you're missing an exhaust tip. only way to avoid that look is to have a bumper fabbed for one muffler cutout.

single muffler bumper, done right. if you're not gonna do it right, don't bother.

Paint the piece black, I think it would look good. BUT, tell me the muffler isn't gold. Hopefully its a reflection or something. Otherwise, nice and unique.

i feel like it will have better performance gains once i get headers since itll be more of a straight through design but we'll see...

ill have more pics up this weekend once it gets warmer and i can get some paint laid down

i went with single for a few reasons...price, originality/uniqueness, and also possibly better performance than dual since our cars really arent TRUE dual exhaust

there's actually no credibility to this statement at all; the stock CL-S exhaust is actually very free flowing.

agreed, i somewhat regret on putting exhaust on my car.... but it looks a bit better. sounds better. but power gains.. meh i'd rather spend the money on other mods which give much more gains.

anyways update us... ur car is coming very well

Rebuttal to the single outlet not having performance gains:

Honda Legend by Spoon Sports with single outlet design...can be seen at 24 seconds into the video.

...truly inspirational work of art.

final install...

only took maybe 4 hours on sunday to begin and complete this "mod"...i love it. it makes my car unique from every CL on here. so hit it up with more haterade or comments if u like i ended up using a satin finish instead of a flat or semigloss so it actually matches my wheels. '03 tails will complete my exterior mods...maybe...

rear bumper was a bit more of a challenge to get off than i was expecting but it made this "mod" a lot easier to have it off.

and the finished product.

I like it a lot, pretty cool looking. I would take out the black section completely and mold in a CF diffuser panel

are you serious? how does naming other cars of different models and makes prove anything? the honda legend is NOT the acura CL; the is300 is NOT an acura CL.

there's HUNDREDS of cars out there that have dual exhausts that are head and shoulders faster than an IS300/WRX/Evo/AP2/Skyline.

your 'rebuttal' in any way, shape or form, is completely bunk. if you know nothing about the CL, especially having driven a TL this entire time, I think you should stick to what you know, rather than attempting to convey knowledge that is completely false.
