Just ordered the 6 lb boost pulley for the blower from pulleyboys, I am SO EXCITED, can't wait to feel it's increase in power.

Got the Blower oil scheduled to be changed, replace the spark plugs and increase the fuel pressure slightly this coming week.

Now I just have to get the engine dampener installed and clutch upgraded.

What's the best clutch to use for the increased power?

Comptech no longer makes the clutch for the CL, spoke to them before. I really want the best clutch that has been proven to work flawlessly and can handle the power. ANybody know about first hand experience? THere should be a clutch thread, right?

Nobody uses it because its shit.

Ive got over 7k on the CM stage 3 clutch. It takes some getting used to but I absolutely love it. You have to be careful with the break in though, make sure you follow it to a T.

It uses the stock flywheel and IIRC a stock PP. And it doesnt work with lightweight pulleys.

I'm sticking with my OEM clutch, just spoke to jproy and his tuner in NY, man, I swear I know nothing compared to those guys. Alot more to it then just adjusting the FPR and swapping out some injectors, plugs and a pulley, gonna get the AEM FIC-6 with proper tunign and a dyno to get it running flawlessly. Gonna put the Wideband 02 sensor too.
Gonan be sick when it's done, can't wait!

lol, at this point, I have an appointment to see the detail guy, but thats after I get the 6 lbs of boost in, I'll wait to see how the power upgrade goes. If that goes well and problem free, and I feel like I'm gonna have the car for another 10 years, lol, I'll paint it then. This should hold me off in the meantime.

Making the appointment to drop off the car April 8th for a week at RPM Systems with Don (I call him the mechanical rain man, talk to him and he will surely impress you with his tech knowledge, lol). It's gonna get completely tuned to the core, every aspect of the Fuel, ignition, timing, everything will be done specifically for this individual car. I was told you can only get so far with a general map of the car model, but since each car has unique characteristics, a specific tune would be best for trouble free driving. Gonna take 8 days, it will be dynoed and ready to go with the FIC-6, RDX injectors, Wideband O2 sensor, engine dampener, Blower oil changed, EVERY stone will be turned.

I also have the headlights and new LED fog lights getting polished to a clear glossy finish. Then the car will go into the paint booth next, undecided still but leaning towards a hybrid Black with Silver overcoat over the Satin Black Paint.

Lastly, I have a new setup for wheels coming that will be perfect, 18" front, 20" rear Devotion Monoblock prototypes I had from way back when being refinished to the same color as my current Legends, Satin black with a Mirror lip and Brushed accents on the inner lip. These things weigh practically nothing and should add to the sporty feel of the vehicle.

Man, I am totally getting re-united with my CL, I think these mods and the anticipation will make me happy with it for a long time. I'm going to document the whole thing from start to finish, from the tune to the paint to the wheels, you guys will see the amount of work that goes into each aspect of the transformation. Hopefully we can present this to a magazine and get some coverage too knowing that I have worked with these magazines in the past and present.

CAN'T WAIT!!!

Cool.

I just have one question, and I dont mean to detract from this but;

Weren't you selling the CL to get a TL so you could use it as the company vehicle? It still makes business sense (to me at least) to do that so you have the latest product and can make more things for it and market yourself moreso over using a 10 year old design.

BTW, the TL grille you have changes the car 100% for the better. Sell the design to Acura

Yeah, I was, but I figured I can make products for the new TL and use the funds originally planned to purchase the car with to actually produce the products like new wheels, a grille and potentially a lip kit. I couldn't justify the $50k cost and I still surprisingly liked my CL more after a brief test drive. Lastly I felt like holding out until a true coupe (hopefully RWD or AWD manual transmission) comes out of Acura.

So my CL is more for me rahter than the company. It's got a hair over 30k miles, it's in perfect runnign condition and it's been payed for since 2007.

Yea I kinda find it a little surprising how alot of ppl that sell the cl end up missing it even when they buy better cars. It might not be the fastest, best looking, or best handling but it is such a smooth daily driver I prefer driving it to most other cars. Even when I am in nicer pricier cars i still wish I was driving my cl most of the time.

Yeah, and that seating comfort and position with the low dashboard height, unmatched.
All the newer cars feel too cluttered inside, the CL has a ton of open space.

I occassionaly drive my brothers Accord, and I cant stand it. I like the low sills on the windows, the low dashboards and the low rear deck so I can actually see. The Accord doesnt have any of that. The beltline on cars were raised to rediculous levels. I know its for safety, but isn't the ability to see whats around you part of the whole safety thing as well? Its a PITA driving the 8th gen Accord because its so difficult to see out the rear no matter what position the side view mirrors are. The C-pillars are monstrous. The CL and the 6th gen Accord seem to be the last Honda product that had good visibility. Still, nothing beats my 88 or 90 Civic. The pillars on that thing are so skinny you have almost an unobstructed view the full 360*.

One issue the cl has with visibilty is the side mirrors blocking your site when turning or maybe its just cause I am short.

Actually, I had JNC do them, but the headlights he was given were clearcoated by another member before he sold them to me. I thought nothing ov it, but when I received them, I was un-impressed. I am going to sell them or even trade with someone with another set of OEM 03 headlights, then send those out to get cleared.

Still waiting on some parts to come in so I can get cracking on my 6 lbs boost upgrade. Just bought the RDX injectors and about to by the FIC-6 ina few minutes.

Lastly, I swear, I'm such an idiot, I was going nuts from the suspension sounds and rattles. Turns out the damn car jack had gotten loose in it's compartment and was rattleing agaisnt the frame. I tightened it down, car is dead silent again. And to think, I was about to order shocks and new bushings.

So here's the checklist for anybody who has a blower and wants to upgrade properly to 6 lbs of boost:

- NrG Engine Dampers Install (already have it, so I can't price it)
- 6 lb boost pulley from pulley boys installation with blower oil change ($75)
- AEM FIC-6 ($347)
- RDX injectors ($261)
- Aeromotive 1 to 1 Fuel pressurizer (need more info on this)
- AN-6 fuel fittings (I think this comes with some of the parts)
- Inspect current spark plugs (upgrade if necessary to cold start)
- fuel pump (existing Walboro is fine)
- Same belt (bring additinal ones)
- aem wideband 6 in 1 30-1040 ($184)

Oh, btw, I got a quote from a shop / old friend who does work for Ford and Funk Master Flex, Satin Black Polyurethane clearcoat over my NBP is going to be about $2k, so if everythign goes well with the power upgrade, its Satin Black next!

ANd here are a few pics of the AEM Wideband O2 sensor and the 6 lb boost pulley nex tot the original 3 lb boost pulley from comptech.

Hey Ron I dont know about the flat black thats the type of color that looks cool for 2 weeks and then you hate it and you'll never get a shine out of it it will always be dull. If you wanna go for a siver I would suggest Lexus thundercloud which is a unique silvew/ a tint of light purple blueish haze. But if you wanna go with the dopest silver ever go with the Porsche GT Silver. It was designed for the $500k Carrera GT and was on the 40th aniversary 911. I was a detailer for Porsche for 4yrs and must say thats the most unique paint I've seen. I hate silver cars but I would love to have this color car. Lexus Thundercloud Porsche GT Silver

The Porsche GT Silver looks like its almost chrome paint. I think a CL would look dope in either one of those colors but thats my opinion I just figured I'd mention it to you cuz not a lot of people are aware of those colors. The Lexus Thundercloud was an IS 300 special edition color only for 1 year and they made a couple ES330 special editions in that color. The Porsche GT Silver came on the 2004 40th aniversary 911 and the Carerra GT Supercar and you can special order it from porsche. You will NEVER see any other Acura or Honda in either one of those colors.

Are you painting the door jams and engine bay also. Removing all the glass and engine? I painted my car silver in Jan 10 but used stock color and skipped door jams and engine bay to save on cost. I also skipped painting my skirts, spoiler and mirrors. I decided to stay silver because i didnt want the color to stand out and want it too look more sleeper clean looking then flashy in your face looking. I think my rims and muffler tips give it away tho.

I'm going Satin black because of the lower cost and lower maintenence. So no, I wouldn't be doing the engine bay, but will be doing the door jambs. Glass is staying put since the Satin is really justa clearcoat.

I might end up doing a satin bottom and gloss Anthracite top two tone, but who knows, I change my mind so much, I'll wait till I'm ready and really make a fianl decision at that point.
