So who's going to be first...

Interesting...doesn't look good with a stock setup but I wonder if the car was modded right.

With a drop, tints, and some aggressive wheels it would probably look nice.

Check it:

Flat black is the new silver.

Cool pics!

Yeah...this just shows how sweet it CAN look.

I would love to see someone do it that has easy access to a body shop just to see a tricked out CL with this "stealth" look.

The body better be straighter than an arrow. One tiny ding could ruin the entire thing.

Won't look good. Not enough body lines

yea. Satin black would definitely look better than flat black (I believe thats what those cars above are) but I could be wrong.

I do agree, a flat black car needs to have some hard body lines to look good.

maybe a wide body kit and some stripes to accent the lines... but i like it. Also on the bmw the windows are painted and the front window is haf painted, thats stupid!

Can you try this with a kitted car? It will look better.

I have a good picture somewhere of the a CL with a Ronjon kit.

Yeah...hard body lines to accent the flat black.

I think that M5 is a great example.

What does the satin black look like...?

These flat black paint jobs don't get clearcoats right?

I was talking with somebody else on the forums who is doing this to their TL and they mentioned the maintenance was the same even though there is no glossy surface layer.

Satin paint does have a clear cost but its a form of singel-stage paint. We use seporror and house of color at our shop.

Strictly speaking, "Re" is an abbreviated form of the Latin "in re", which, "re" being the ablative case of "res" (thing), means "concerning" or "in the matter of."

I got that, thank you. I always just noticed it in e-mail, when you REspond to a prev. e-mail; thought someone had made a similar thread, and you wanted to make a new one

That looks good and that's is a mild kit. A versus kit and the flat black would be even better.

it looks good, but not "good enough"

theres something lost when a paint job doesnt have a high gloss/shine

i think we just like the flat black idea because its different

+1

It looks decent, but the only reason I would see someone doing it is for the "unique" factor.

I think flat black will look good on performance modded cars. It's the finishing touch on a beast.
