Pic of my cl

Here r some pics of my 2001 CL-S... Just got it 2 months ago, so it's a work in progress. Can anyone recommend good spring/coilover kits? How are the comptech ones? How badly does it affect the ride comfort? It definately needs a drop

are those 18"/19"?

what offset?

doesnt look like you will be able to drop that much, if any.. looks like it has a really wide stance.

They're 19" x 8", offset is 40mm.. I might have to do some bodywork...Comptech springs drop it 1", there is room, but i will have to widen the wheelwell about a half inch

wouldn't it be easier...and, much much cheaper to just dump those rims and get some that actually fit the car?

These rims DO fit the car, if i wanted to LOWER it then i would have to do some bodywork, my buddy has a shop anyway so it wouldnt cost much. As of now, they don't rub plus they feel lighter than stock

Well, i haven't been to Long Island w/ THIS car, so maybe it was someone else...I bought the rims myself 3wks ago and the car is from Markham (Ont)...so there's a twin driving around w/ the same rims?

45mm offset would definately fit. I was told anything over 38mm would, but mine r 40mm and it looks VERY close. The calipers r almost rubbing @ the front, but there's no contact. No contact w/ the wheelwells either. I posted a couple extra pics on my site

"fit" meaning the correct offset for the car so that it stays in your wheel well and doesn't look like you're going to lower it with dubs ghetto-style.

Define "correct" offset. If it fits and doesnt rub than its a correct fit, rite?

well, if you had some custom lift kit installed on your car and raised it to the moon, you can put an even lower offset rim on your car and never worry about rubbing. it still will not "fit" inside your wheel well...whether or not it rubs is an entirely different issue. whether or not it looks good is another one.

18x8 with 40 offset is NOT the CORRECT size.. i can 100% guarentee u that ur gonna rub once u lower ur car... evenwith comptech..

18x8 u need at least at least 42 with shaved fenders
18x8 with 45 offset is ok but u probably need to roll ur fenders
18x7.5 with 45 offset is just perfect for CL and TL and accord.
so with ur 18x8 with 40 offset... i dont know.. once u lower ur car. have fun hearing buzzz buzz buzzzzz
