New System...pics

i thought i would share my simple system setup, that me and my friend just installed....i know it doesnt exactly fill out the trunk but i didnt want it too. i dont like the two slots up in the corners...so enjoy

and the sub is a Cadence cvlw12" and a cadence amp.

oh yeah this is also in the A/V section but its like everybodys dog just died over there. so thought id share with my fellow CLers

go ahead tell me the wall isnt big enough....i dont care. i dont like the two big slots that you have to cut out for the trunk arm.

looks good, i probably would've gone with more than one sub though, it looks kinda lonely w/ all that extra space around it. Maybe you could get an 8 or 10 for each side of the 12 in the middle

yeah i know but i didnt want anything too loud. and this gets pretty freakin loud. but yet has excellent SQ. it was a nice cheap combo. and i didnt want to load my trunk down with a couple subs.

I like that setup...true it does look lonely but then again its nice and simple....i was just thinking that you should of put the amp right on the back of the box where that slot opens on our back seat...so when you open it you get access right to the amp...if tweaking is needed...plus looks cool showing it off...but maybe you just rather have the light....nice by the way : thumbsup :

that was my initial plan but we mismeasured the depth and it wont fit in btween there, its too tight. i could redo it but i dont feel like unhoking it all and resealing it....plus the lights are bright as hell, and i dont want it shining all in front of my car and in my rearview when i look into it.

its a decent setup, it looks clean... as long as it has a good SQ thats the main thing that matters

Looks good. I agree that you should have gone with a better amp and sub. But sometimes you have to go cut some corners to afford other shit. Like mods and gas.

Now, one question for ya. Is there anything really on the sides or is the front of the box all the way across just to cover it. If there is no real box behind the sides, why not angle it back so it looks cleaner? Then you don't have to worry about the "slots" in the corners.

Not bad but I probably would have left out the wall. If there's room on each side of the box, now it's just wasted space.

yeah i know...im kinda having second thougts about it too. but to answer Ravis Q... i would like to go farther back in the trunk but the depth of the sub is so deep, and and i need to have some area inside the box. i just wanted to do something different. but i might just go to a normal box shoved all the way back in there.

and the sub and amp are a good product. i got it for a good price, and that was my main concern

That was a good idea of putting a wall...but i think the reason ppl see it as weird is theres only one sub...so it looks real lonely hence making the whole look odd...but i like the idea...but...thats what being different condones...take the good with the bad... nice setup...

and i agree with the unhooking and rehooking...i would say forget it too...lol...

the box is only 16" deep, and about 16" wide....its just a little bit wider than the ski pass through. about an extra 1-2 inches on each side. its not that big at all. its just about perfectly at .9 cu ft inside....just as the specs recammend

OUr trunks are no where near light. They easily weight 40-50 lbs

really? wow, i wouldnt of thought that. before i deadened it i could flip it all the way open with a simple flick. how are they that heavy when there just sheet metel and some reinforcment under that, with a light piece of plastic carpet lining.

i guess i just dont realize it since it opens so effortlessly.

Take off the support bars and you'll see how heavy it really is. I cut my supports out since i have a 13w7 and its really hard to get in/out of the trunk now.

christ people the box isnt big....thats just a wall. not a box. The actual box is about the size of two shoe boxes stacked up.
