You mean this one?

I had the AP1 cluster but the red line was 9k. I wanted a more usable redline and I honestly like the AP2 cluster more.

Oh and great news

I FOUND A TRANSMISSION!!!!! Just ordered it. Its out of a 2006 TL 6MT with 48k miles. And I only paid $1k

Ive got all the converters for the important stuff. Tons of people have the AP1 cluster working in swapped Civics/Integras.

Said it before, and I'll say it again: THAT IS NOT A CAR!

That is a very small collection of steel assembled in various sizes and shapes to resemble something that our human minds imagine one day might form the basis for a car.

A car has doors, and windows, and lights, and body panels, and wheels, and seats, an engine, a steering wheel, suspension, and can move itself and preferably other people/items around on its own.

This is considered by many to be a car:

It has no doors, windows, lights, body panels, an engine, suspension, and cannot move itself on its own. But we have been conditioned to believe that it is, in fact, a car.

To put it simply:

The new tranny is sitting at the freight facility. Paul may be able to fit me in next week, if not the following week. I plan on cleaning up the engine bay while the engine is out and finally installing new mounts.

If it can be scheduled in, try and have the aftermarket radius rod bushings installed while the engine is out. Would like to hear your impressions on how they help/hinder your suspension set-up.

I think RP was the only one who reported any kind of issue with the Moogs after his install. fsttyms1 stated that they seemed to help his TL's handling and such.

Thats the plan. While Paul is working on the tranny, Im going to be working on suspension, mounts, and engine bay. I also have rear upper control arms to go in. I figure I might as well replace them since the current set has nearly 150k on them.

IIRC, you had the ES Accord bushings in the other thread. When I installed my ES', I just reused the OEM collars and have had no problems.

Before with the OEMs I noticed the front suspension would hit harder when going over overpasses at 75+mph on I95, you know where asphalt meets concrete, there seemed to be more shock. With the weight of the S/Cer and the battery up there this was very noticeable.

Now, the stiffer ES' allow for a smoother more balanced result. I only have CT-E springs and tokio blues, nothing fancy, and these RR bushings have made a huge difference for an under $100 mod.

Since you are swapping in the tl tranny does that mean you could use this J&R twin disc setup? That would be sick. https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...%3Br+twin+disc

Dont think so, I believe there is still a pickup on the flywheel that needs to be there. Im not entirely sure, but Ill find out this week.

Thanks, but believe me, if you saw it in person you'd see that it has a long ways to go. The clear coat on the roof is beginning to flake and the front end looks like it was sand blasted.

I didn't tell you? Last week I found a 48k mile 6MT out of an 06 TL in PA.

Its the easiest way to do the job. If you pull the tranny with the engine still in the car, you run the risk of hanging the tranny on the clutch disc during reinstall which would screw up the clutch.

New transmission - In
New lower control arms - In
New radius rod bushings - In
New sway bar bushings - In
New end links - In
New motor mounts - 2/3rds in
New transmission - In
New shift cables - In

I have my car back and its better then ever

The clutch appears to have plenty of meat left on it still, and thats after 42k miles. Shifting feels great. The shifter is still a bit tight but its loosening up slowly. The transmission was really clean. I was surprised.

And regarding the mounts:

The passenger side mount will bolt to the frame, but once you attach the bracket, it wont line up with the bracket on the engine. Now to contact Excellerate

Issue with the passenger side engine mount:

This is with the mount bolted down where it should be. The OEM mount went in and the bracket lines up perfectly.

Mods - I know my picture links will be going down soon. I am in the process of reorganizing my PhotoBucket account. Once that is done I am going to open Build Thread V3.0 and you can nuke this one, but until then, please keep it going so I can easily copy/paste the important bits.

I hope so. Id like to keep it less cluttered, but Ive said that before

I saw that you guys are hitting the track again on the 23rd, but I wont be able to. I have to work from 10pm that Saturday until 6pm Sunday

Hopefully you dont run into any issues. Excellerate is saying its not an issue with the mount but that doesnt make sense to me if the OEM side mount bolts up perfectly fine.
