My Build Thread - bordering on more BS! 56K Beware

It's running, I guess thats all I can ask for. It's filthy, the clear coat is trashed, and the mounts still need to be replaced.
Im trying to decide what I really want to do with it. I've spoken with someone local about a paint job and I've gotten an estimate. I have a few ideas for more work on the car too but that's even more money. I've got my eye on a certain car that I've wanted for the longest time and I'm just trying to figure out what I should do.
Oh, and I'm still trying to move west. There's a lot of shit going through my head at the moment so its difficult to decide where I truly should go with it.
Once again I've changed my mind on the headlights (I think this is the fourth time). I hope to get them completed during my vacation this week and next.

And I'm not surprised. Your indecisive ass probably has trouble at the drive through!
How far west would you go? The midwest could use a mean CL-S!

Theres also a very small chance I might end up in California, but I really dont want to go there.
No, prices on them rose since they stopped making them and I can't justify spending that kind of money for that car.

A major part out would be unlikely as the car Im looking at picking up would be my weekend/project car. Im looking at Vegas, Phoenix, Texas, and the Kansas City area, but it depends on job opportunities. I had the opportunity to go out to Phoenix almost two years ago but turned it down. Im kicking myself for that since now it's a bit more difficult to find a job.

It finally stopped raining so I could do a small bit of work to the car.
-Replaced spark plugs. The old set only had ~40k on them but the car has been running a bit funky lately. The tips look normal however the gap was too small (~.035" when they should be ~.042")
-Cleaned my air filter. It was a good thing I was working on the car. I noticed that my air filter fell off the velocity stack somehow. I have no idea how long its been like that. The tube wasnt very dirty and neither was the throttle body, so Im hoping I wasnt driving like that very long. I have the vent in the bumper drilled out to let air pass through and with it comes a lot of dirt. Luckily I didnt lose the filter since the fender liner (which I just replaced because the old one was broken) kept it behind the bumper. After I cleaned everything up and reattached it, I put a self tapping screw threw the collar on the fiter, the clamp and the velocity stack so it shouldnt fall off again.
-Put the Works back on. I may be picking up a different set of wheels instead of the 18s Ive been waiting to put on. We'll see.
Im getting an alignment tomorrow and doing my oil change and tranny drain and fill. Since replacing the spark plugs, the car starts up easier and has better throttle response. I did a quick pull on the test drive earlier and hit 70 from a complete stop in what Google estimates to be approximately 400ft. That was spinning all of first and a bit of second (I love my tires).
JBlue, Street and myself are going to Englishtown Wednesday as long as the weather is good. Im bringing my GoPro and my helmet just in case I break the 14sec barrier. Ill post the slips Wednesday night.
The 18x8.5 CR-Kais and the 19x8.5 DT3s will be listed for sale within the month. I want them out of my garage before December. Im also hopefully selling the motor I was putting in the Civic and getting rid of that project all together to start a new one

Good luck with the possible move, and getting all that stuff sorted out, man. Hope to see you keep the CL since you've put so much work into it, but on the other hand it would be great to see what you would do with a clean sheet.
What happened to the first (or second or third, I lost track) of retros from a few months back?

You need a helmet regardless unfortunately, even if you ran a 20 second pass.

This will be my first time at the track so Im not expecting much. I hope there arent a lot of people because I want to get as many runs in as possible.
Yep. JBlue has the AWD 335. And its a 6MT
Im hoping mid October, early November. Paul has been very busy all summer. And from what hes told me, my headers will be the second and last set he produces. They are a pain in the ass to build (same reason P2R doesnt want to build them).
Thanks man The CL isn't going anywhere. Im going to drive it for as long as possible, then yank the engine out and drop it in something else. I wouldn't get much for it anyway if I were to sell it now. And what Ive got planned for my next project is leaps and bounds ahead of the CL. Its going to put quite a bit of cars to shame.
As usual, I went back to the drawing board for the headlights. Im back to my original plan of pulling out all the stops and doing what I really want to do. Its going to be tedious and time consuming, but I dont want to do another set if I just slapped these together since its not what I truly wanted.
Plus, Ive got to keep up with SlowCL-S in the headlight department
Possibly those, but I also have my eyes on something a bit lighter. It depends if they fit though.

Yep. I want much more power, better handling, and RWD. Its going to take some time to finish. I know what chassis I want, Im just waiting for the right one to come along.
My goal with it = 2-300lbs lighter then stock, relatively stock looking from the outside, north of 600hp at the wheels. I figure with the chassis Im looking at, thatll be good for mid to low 11s in the quarter as long as my driving doesnt suck.

Unlike the vendors for the EMS, Im willing to work out a payment plan
I was heading to NY for the week anyway. The opportunity arose so I decided why not go, hang out, and do a few passes. And I believe Richmond does a test and tune once a month instead of every week The next T&T at VMP is November 3rd.

Funny enough I'm now considering not getting one because my fantacy wore out as soon as I sold my CL. I honestly don't even know what it's going to be yet, hell, I may even pick up another CLS6 if the right opportunity comes along.
Anyway, I'm curious to hear how civic's car will sound with those headers on steroids that are being built

Hate to see another defector from the Acura/Honda brand; however, I TOTALLY understand the allure of RWD.
Good Luck

lol, Indeed. This is one of my favorite videos and I believe it is the car he eventually got 1000HP from.
