I am trying to install my hybrid racing bushings. Removing the stock bushings, which most ppl say is hard part, was easiest part. I am having trouble getting the last o-ring clip on the bigger bushing. Spending hours just trying to get 1 clip on bent over the engine bay hehe.

Anyone have a better tip than working it around clockwise and using a flathead screwdriver? I might just give up and use a retaining clip like one that comes with corsport.

No, take a screwdriver and twist on the old bushings and they pop right out.

I havent ordered the new HR bushings yet, so Im not familiar with the retaining clip they use. Do you have any pics?

EDIT - looking at pics it looks like it uses those clips that are similar to key rings (I have no other way of explaining it). If thats the case, two small pliers grabbing each end and pulling away from each other should spread it apart. You should be able to slide it into the groove that way.

I finally got it all installed. I knew how the key rings worked, but that didn't seem to make it that much easier. Guess after a few times you get hang of it, and lack of room didn't help. I used a small flathead screwdriver in the groove then used other hand to spin it around while screwdriver guided it.

I ended up installing how heeltoes directions say, which is opposite of hybrid racings. I was able to get washers to fit, just on bigger bushing I used a slightly smaller clip cause one it came with didn't fit thru hole with stock washers on.

Does the way I installed it look fine. I am just wondering if the spherical bearing has room to move or if installing like this is like solid bushing?

How does the shifting feel with the bushings installed? I've had my corsports in a box for like 2 years now. Right when I got motivated to install them they came out with a new (better?) design. Now I'm not sure what to do

thnx, It feels a lil more crisp and not as notchy(2nd gear shift is easier/smoother). I still need to do the clutch dampening delete and install modded slave cylinder tho. I bought the corsport bushings also and never installed them, then bought the hybrid ones. I need to sell corsport still. Wondering if the corsport base bushings will fit.

It is decent atm. I need to get valve adjustment and install all my engine goodies and that should make a big difference. Right now I am kinda in limbo waiting on my custom parts to get made/shipped to me. Custom parts take forever.

I noticed when I removed my icebox a few times that it seems like the rubber coupler that attaches to the tb is restrictive on the inside from the spiral design. I decided to order new couplers and installed them with p2r clamps. The one i used to connect to tb was 2 7/8" and the other one is 3".

Yeah, I noticed that too when I installed mine.

There's nothing wrong with modding it for more direct air flow

I also think it's dumb how comptech used plastic. They should have designed the icebox in metal with a plastic shell around it to keep the oem look. That would have made the temperatures much cooler on the inside. Not saying that there not cool as is, but it would have made it even better....

Metal conducts heat so it would be hotter on average than plastic. Thats why people wrap their metal intakes in heat shield material. Plastic is also lighter. It just doesnt have as much of a bling factor. Could paint the tubing.

Now if you have a metal intake and you are doing runs at local track, you can put bags of ice or dry ice on the intake and let it sit till right before the run to keep metal cold. Not sure how much that would help times tho.

I installed my hub, quick release and steering wheel today. The stock wheel plus airbag is pretty heavy at 8.5 lbs. I forgot to weigh my setup before I installed it, but it has to be 5 lbs or more lighter. I also had a weird clicking feel in my wheel when I turned to left, but after installing my mugen wheel it magically disappeared so thats good. Here is a pic. Dont mind the torn apart interior. Since the 03 cl is dual stage airbag I needed 2 resistors. No SRS light and the horn works.

This wheel makes a bigger difference than I expected. Steering feels lighter and smoother. First time I drove with it today i kept missing the turning indicator stalk.

Freakin sweet man. Awesome that no srs light is on and you retained the horn. Looks classy yet functional at the same time. Although me personally, I wouldn't wanna lose the airbag even with the few pounds saved in weight

Thats nice ! I have question though. I see you modified car audio. How is the braille battery holding up ? How was it in the winter ? Im looking for spare IM and runners to P&P them but no luck so far.

Battery has been perfect so far. I do hook it up to a trickle charger tho. I am actually gonna remove my rear speakers and swap to a smaller, lighter 2 channel amp and only run front components. I didn't really drive in winter, still had my summer wheels and tires on.

For the IM and runners it took me awhile to find a pair, I just kept checking the bm here and v 6 p and other forums.
