Let me know how much of the center console you have to trim. I thought about getting it also, but cutting up the trim around the shifter kind of turned me off.

i need to retint my windows, i hate them. i would run 15% rear window if not 5% (if u have backup camera). the side windows i would get 25% if not darker. depending on how much you want to risk getting pulled over.
im running like 15% rear, and 35% fronts or something stupid.

I hate having my rear tinted and not the fronts...super F*n lame IMO.
I want to tint my CL 20% all around but San Francisco cops are total dick heads!
Front license plates and tint I work by the court house and people are pulled over ALL DAY LONG!!!
Not worth the trouble but damn this unmatched tint drives me nucking futz!
Short shifter FTW!

alright about the short shifter...
its from a 6th gen application and yes it fits, im going to see if the manufacturer will modify it to move the shifter left about 1/2" as it does come a little close to the ebrake.
so far my impressions are that it's very well built, you can adjust height as well as how short you want the shifts by adjusting the bracket height. it comes with everything you need including new bushings.. so far at the most aggressive settings it takes more energy to shift, about a 45% reduction, i was wishing for more ever since i tried a legacy with an sti short shifter (literally moves 1-1.5 inches from first to second). anyways im loving it, i'm going to get a 600 gram (1.32lb) knob next.

If you can somehow sway his decision to adjust the shifter to more towards the left, I will buy one right away, as I'm sure a few other people would as well. I've got the money for it sitting in my paypal, but I was waiting for someone to post of a picture of how close it comes to the e-brake when in reverse.

Maybe we should try to organize a group buy if he is willing to move the shifter over some? That may be some incentive for him to produce one specifically for the CL.
Just a thought.

it wasn't hard, it took me about an hour working slowly haha. instructions are on his website, but before u buy i'd like to see if he can produce something to move the assembly to the left about 1/4"-1/2"
and you must modify the boot bezel in order for it not to hit at the most aggressive setting (shortest shift, not knob height), i cut mine, but it just needs a little more modifications.

Maybe this is a dumb question but could someone just re-spray their paint with more pearl and another layer of clear...does that work?
Like you said Brian...re-pearl I didn't know there was such a thing?
If that's the case does that mean that someone can just add pearl to their paint?

i have a counterskunk knob and on the lowest and shortest setting, which means its right on the same level of the ebrake. so if u have a regular knob and/or set it higher im sure it will be more comfortable. someone take a picture of their stock in reverse. i should have taken a ref picture.
no problems with 6th.

As I said earlier, if he is willing to move the assembly over some, I would buy it right away. Maybe we should start a thread for it?

To answer your question simply, no. It doesn't work like that. From what I understand you add pearl to a basecoat, not on top of an existing clear coat.
You could attempt a re-spray with additional pearls, but that would be a Mica paint job and is essentially the same as repainting your car.
The steps for a paint job are the following:
1)Basecoat
2)Midcoat
3)Clear
I don't know much much about the details behind paint, but I do know when you add pearl to the base coat, the base color lightens up, which is why LIPPSTUH's black paint (for example) wont be as dark as the next jet black car without pearls.
Paint jobs, like LIPPSTUH's (going back to his car for example, since this IS his thread) are called Mica, where the pearl is added to the base and then sprayed.
A true pearl is a separate coat that's sprayed between the base coat and the clear. That is what they call 3-stage paint. 3-stage paint jobs usually are super expensive due to the high cost of materials.
Joe (Backyard Creations) the painter that did LIPPSTUH's paintjob, did a 3-tone PPG paint job on this car. Came out really awesome, but probably would cost somewhere in the ballpark of $10K for something like this.
